Productions Requirements: Productions is part of the leadership team of our program. Members are required to have a leadership role in major productions including the Fall show, Haunted House, and UIL OAP. Students are encouraged to also audition for the musical, but it is not required. Anyone interested needs to at least put Production Theatre Class somewhere on their course requests; contact your counselor if you are unsure. For the 2024 UIL OAP (TBA), we will be assigning all cast, crew, and alternate roles from this leadership class. If you apply, you are applying knowing this class requirement for participation. Formal UIL OAP auditions will occur sometime in November.
Attendance- Communicate all absences before beginning of production and demonstrate good communication and organizational skills. More than 3 unexcused absences will result in dismissal from a show. This includes outside engagements of other theatre companies, sports, and jobs.
Due Dates- Due dates are hard-set dates and students must be prepared by the time given. Class Engagement-Students understand that all plays produced by the Productions class are mandatory including the UIL One Act Play contest. Failure to participate in required shows will result in removal from the class.
Grades- Students understand the No Pass-No Play UIL rules and that failure to pass classes can mean removal from Production class or loss of a role in a production.
Social Media- Students will conduct themselves on all social media to the highest standard.
Auditions- Students understand that each show in production class requires them to audition again for a role. Placement in the class and roles are at the discretion of the directors.
A mandatory parent meeting will be held on May 19th from 6 to 7:00pm to go over calendars and the class requirements once class list is posted.
